The sewer treatment plant originated as a school assignment with the title "Millennium Year 2000."
The idea was to capture this symbolic entry to the new millennium in architecture.
I saw the twist in rejuvenating dead into new water.
Thus I chose our most polluted river, the Bílina, and designed a treatment plant that, after fulfilling its cleaning and research functions, will serve in the future for sports and cultural use in the form of libraries, pools, gardens…
The size of this project is dimensioned in order to truly hold up technically.
The treatment plant absorbed all the water in the Bílina River and ejected it completely clean. That is why it is called Krakatice…
It respected the location and urban character of the village of Želenice with its shape and size.
